Hospitality Wireless

We recently put access points in a majority of the rooms at the Napili Kai Beach Resort, a 160 room Maui resort. They had originally asked us to handle their guest wireless several years ago and we turned them down because they wanted 24 hour a day monitoring and they wanted us to handle guest problems directly. At that time they hired another company to provide them with the services they needed. The company put in Aruba wireless access points in about a third of the rooms in a couple of the building on the property. The Aruba access points cost about $400 a piece and the monitoring program was separate and required a third party host. The monitoring was costing them with just 2 building hundreds of dollars a month. After they wired these 2 building they approached The Wolff Computer Group again, unhappy with their current wireless.

We put in a Ubquiti Unifi access point into nearly 95% of their guest rooms. With the addition of a $95 Unifi Cloud Key we are able to monitor all of the access points 24 hours a day with email notification of any problem. Because the Unifi Access points were so inexpensive in comparison to the Aruba access points, ($70 versus $400), were were able to created a much more saturated wireless network for less money. And because they are now monitoring the network themselves they are saving thousand of dollars each quarter.
